The LWC runs a volunteer vet program that seeks to provide assistance to the LWC’s Cameroonian veterinary team. We are looking for qualified veterinary surgeons, preferably with experience of, or post-graduate qualification in, working with (captive) wildlife species. The rotating position will be for a minimum duration of 6 months.
The LWC’s veterinary team consists of a veterinary surgeon and nurse/lab technician. The veterinary facility has a basic field laboratory with parasitological, haematological and microbiological capacity. The volunteer vet will work as a member of this veterinary team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in the field of conservation medicine whilst gaining invaluable practical experience of working with endangered Central African wildlife species.
Unfortunately the project can not offer a salary and the volunteers will have to pay for their own transport costs to and from Cameroon. However the project will provide a food allowance and accommodation.
