The Limbe Wildlife Centre takes care of a wide variety of animal species. Some are seized by the government, others are donated by individuals and some are brought in when they were found wounded. Most non primate animals don’t stay long at the LWC, as they are released back to the wild as soon as possible when a suitable and safe habitat can be found. However, some specific species are kept for education reasons, so they can be shown to visitors. Among the species that where successfully rehabilitated and released are:
- African grey parrots (Psittacus erithacus)
- African civet (Civetttictis civetta)
- marsh tortoise (Pelusios niger)
- dwarf crocodile (Osteolaemus tetraspis)
